We’re all healthy here- Zuzu just checked in, too. However, some news regarding the swine flu has me more than concerned about the fall.
Currently, Argentina has some major problems with a swine flu outbreak and President Obama is convening a health summit July 9th to plan for the fall when schools re-open and the normal flu season begins. Here’s the CDC’s information site on the H1N1 flu. There are over 70 countries with reported cases of H1N1, and over 20,000 people have been sickened by it. People are encouraged to prepare for days and maybe weeks at home in the event of a major U.S. outbreak, stockpiling water and non-perishable food items. And I just keep thinking: just in time for the baby to come.
It does worry me, because, including the baby, three of us in my home fall into “high risk” categories, and even Eric may be more vulnerable, based on the 1917-1918 flu pandemic. This conjures all sorts of Captain Tripps images in my mind…so yes, over the summer, I will be stocking up at Sam’s. Thank you, thank you very much.
