  1. I used to be under the illusion they (private insurers) only denied cases that were not really ‘necessary’. That is until we were denied treatment for Astoria. Basically they claim torticollis is a cosmetic issue. Oh, okay, my daughter walking around with her head tilted at a 15 degree angle is cosmetic? I let her know that when she goes to grade school and has trouble finding friends because she’s different. Kids are mean already..don’t give them more reason to call names. Needless to say I sortof won our case. They ended up giving us 18 visits with a physical therapist until December. Not sure what I’m supposed to do after that since it can reveal itself until she starts walking. Guess I’ll just start expecting her to walk at 9 months. Likely I’ll continue to fight. Okay off my soapbox now 🙂

  2. Wow, Andrea. Wow. Absolutely infuriating. I wish you luck as you keep fighting- but it’s a shame you have to fight at all.

here’s to your beautiful daughter- and all our wonderful children :). I hope they never have to worry about these things when they’re parents.
